Combined Heat and Power Plants

A Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP) generates heat and electricity simultaneously through the process of cogeneration leading to higher efficiency and an overall reduction of energy costs compared to the separate generation of heat and electricity.

The benefits of cogeneration plants are numerous:

  • Reduction in energy costs and preservation of primary energy by 36 %
  • Reduction of nitrogen oxide by 29 % and carbon dioxide by 58 %
  • The isolated operation means that you have reliable supply in the case of blackouts
  • Can be combined with refrigeration plants for trigeneration, leading to even better energy cost savings as a result of more efficient utilization
  • Long term generation due to sophisticated technologies
  • Long term generation due to sophisticated technologies

Cogeneration plants are used in production facilities, public utility companies, hospitals, sewerage plants, biogas plants and industrial companies.  OREEPS can design, construct and operate your cogeneration plant with the following power spectrum:

  • Combustion engines with 200 kW – 4,000 kW
  • Utilization of heat in low temperature systems and hot water systems, steam with up to 10 bar
  • Modules with low voltage and medium voltage generators

Customers have the option of purchasing or contracting a cogeneration plant, and each option has its own advantages.
