ORE Energy Product Solutions (OREEPS) is an Engineering company operating in the Energy sector since 2007. It is 100% Black-owned and is part of the group of companies under the ORE Group (Pty) Ltd banner.
Our business is turnkey energy and power systems engineering solutions, as well as the supply of specialized equipment and services for the Energy, Utilities and capital intensive sectors.
Brief History
OREEPS was started with a vision of offering quality products at fair price and bringing ethical practice to the marketplace. Fairness and ethics continue to be foundations on which we do business.
In 2009 OREEPS moved towards a stronger service focus, offering power systems engineering solutions to complement our product lines. In 2010 the company forged and solidified partnerships which have facilitated the expansion of our solutions offering. In co-operation with our technology partners, we have gained the capacity to design, build, commission and maintain generation plants.
We present our clients with a complete and full basket as a one-stop supplier.
We see ourselves at the forefront of turnkey power and electrification technology in South Africa and Southern Africa.
Executive Team and Directors
The ORE Group of companies was started by Lester de Vries in 1998 while he was studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Cape Town. After completing his Engineering degree, he worked in a power systems environment at Eskom. He joined OREEPS on a full-time basis in 2008 and has been instrumental in forging the partner relationships that OREEPS has with international manufacturers. Lester de Vries is the Managing Director of OREEPS.
Carmen de Vries holds responsibility for OREEPS commercial direction, particularly in respect of partnership/supplier contracts, institutional customer relationship management and marketing. A published author, she holds an undergraduate degree in Social Sciences from the University of Cape Town, and post-graduate business qualifications from the University of the Western Cape and Wits Business School. Carmen de Vries is Executive Director of OREEPS. She serves on the company’s review committee. She is an elected member of the Council of the Cape Chamber of Commerce.
Prof. Linda de Vries, Chairperson of OREEPS, serves on several boards across industries. She is an educator, business leader, international regulatory role player as well as an author. She studied in USA (Albany), Stellenbosch University and the University of the Western Cape (South Africa). She is an international consultant and also Professor in the School of Business and Finance at the University Western Cape. Prof. de Vries forms part of the OREEPS review committee.
Steven de Vries serves as a Director on the OREEPS board. A registered Construction and Installation Electrician, he has vast experience in electrical contracting, supervisory training, entrepreneurial training and consulting. He holds a B.Com Honours degree from the University of the Western Cape.

OREEPS believes in providing opportunities to people from previously disadvantaged groups that were prohibited from meaningful participation in the country’s economy. Although the company was not obligated to undergo verification, we chose to do so to illustrate our commitment to broad-based inclusion. In 2009, OREEPS was verified by the DTI-accredited verification agency, AQ Rate, as a Level 3 Contributor (110 %).
